What a school in Egypt actually needs

Egypt is the largest school market in the Arab world and the most varied: national Arabic schools, official language schools, private language schools, and international schools running IGCSE, American Diploma, IB, French and German programmes — often more than one of them under a single licence. A system that assumes one curriculum and one grading scale cannot describe that, and the difference is made up by hand.

Two things then decide whether the system is usable in Egypt at all. The first is the Directorate’s own returns — monthly attendance and grade sheets in the formats the education directorate expects, including the standard forms 31 and 35 and completion certificates on the approved template. The second is how money actually moves: families pay through collection outlets, instant bank transfer, mobile wallets, local cards and bank invoices, and each of those has to land against the right child’s account on the right day.

Tax invoices must meet the Egyptian Tax Authority’s e-invoice requirements, and reports have to print in Arabic for the Directorate and in English for universities abroad. EduX was built Arabic-first with full English, which is why RTL documents print correctly instead of collapsing.

EduX and the Ministry’s platforms

EduX does not replace the Ministry of Education and Technical Education’s platforms and does not claim a live connection to them. What the Ministry requires filed in its own systems stays there. EduX covers the layer they were never designed for: fees and instalments, e-invoicing and receipts, admissions, transport, canteen, payroll and day-to-day parent communication — and it prepares the Directorate’s attendance and grade returns from the same record instead of a separate spreadsheet. For what all of this costs, see the Egypt pricing guide.

Five questions to ask any vendor

  1. Run a full fee cycle in front of me now — enrol a student, build a plan, take a payment, show the arrears list. If data must be "prepared first", you are watching a slideshow.
  2. Print an Arabic report. This is where translated systems fail: leftover English headers, reversed numerals, broken layout.
  3. How many clicks to mark a class absent? Three versus fifteen is hours a week for teachers, and the main reason systems get abandoned.
  4. What happens if we leave? Ask for a full data export before signing, not after.
  5. What is the all-in first-year number? Subscription, setup, migration, training, support and the parent app.

FAQ

Questions from Egyptian schools

Does EduX produce the Directorate's attendance and grade returns?

It holds the data those returns are made from and exports it in the formats the education directorate expects, including the standard attendance and grade sheets and completion certificates on the approved template.

Does it handle Egyptian e-invoicing?

Fee invoices are issued electronically for the Tax Authority's e-invoice requirements, with an archive the school can export when audited.

Which payment methods can parents use?

The channels Egyptian families already use — collection outlets, instant bank transfer, mobile wallets, local cards and bank invoices — each landing against the right student's account and statement.

Does EduX work for IGCSE, American Diploma and IB schools?

Yes. Several programmes run side by side in one account, each with its own grading scheme and report templates, with certificates available in more than one language.

How much does a school management system cost in Egypt?

Pricing is a written quote based on pupil numbers and the modules a school needs. What sets the price, and which line items most vendors bill separately, is set out in the Egypt pricing guide.

How long does implementation take?

We handle setup as soon as we receive your data, including configuration, migration of existing Excel records and remote team training.

Do we need a server at the school?

No. EduX is fully cloud-based and opens in a browser. Hosting, updates and backups are our responsibility.

Who owns the school's data?

The school does. Data can be exported at any time in a usable format and the subscription stopped without penalty.
