What an international school in Saudi Arabia actually needs
A private school in the Kingdom is a commercial entity as much as an academic one. It answers to the Ministry of Education academically, to ZATCA for invoicing, and to parents on a fee cycle tied to two semesters with collection running all year. Most foreign systems treat those three as edge cases — in a Saudi school they are the daily work.
International schools add a second requirement that catches many systems out: everything must exist twice. Reports for a British or IB inspection in English, statements for a Saudi parent in Arabic, and staff who switch between the two mid-sentence. A system with an English core and a translated Arabic skin breaks exactly where it matters — printed reports and invoices.

EduX does not connect to Noor, and does not replace it. Noor is the Ministry of Education's official academic record and stays exactly as it is — your staff continue to enter academic data there. EduX covers the layer Noor was never designed for: fees and instalments, invoicing, transport, canteen, payroll and day-to-day parent communication. Any vendor claiming a live two-way sync with Noor is worth questioning closely.
Five questions to ask any vendor
- Run a full fee cycle in front of me now — enrol a student, build a plan, take a payment, show the arrears list. If data must be "prepared first", you are watching a slideshow.
- Print an Arabic report. This is where translated systems fail: leftover English headers, reversed numerals, broken layout.
- How many clicks to mark a class absent? Three versus fifteen is hours a week for teachers, and the main reason systems get abandoned.
- What happens if we leave? Ask for a full data export before signing, not after.
- What is the all-in first-year number? Subscription, setup, migration, training, support and the parent app.
