1. What a school management system actually is

A school management system — also called an SIS (Student Information System) or school ERP — is the single record of everything administrative in a school: who the students are, who their guardians are, who turned up today, what each family owes, which teacher takes which class, and what the ministry needs to see at the end of term.

It is not a teaching tool. That distinction matters more than any feature list, because most schools buy the wrong category first.

Most schools need the SIS first. A school can teach without an LMS; it cannot enrol, invoice or report without a system of record.

2. Signs your school has outgrown spreadsheets

Spreadsheets work until roughly 150 students. After that the failures are predictable, and they are always the same five:

• The same student exists twice, spelled differently, in two files owned by two people.
• Nobody can say what is owed today without an hour of reconciliation — so nobody asks.
• Attendance is a stack of paper that reaches the office days after the absence mattered.
• Guardians phone the office for information the office also has to look up.
• End-of-term reporting becomes a week of copying between files, and the numbers still disagree.

None of these is a technology problem. They are all the same problem: no single record that everyone reads from.

100-point, A–F, GPA, IB and Cambridge scales — several grading systems can run in one school, which matters for international schools with mixed sections.

Guardian portal and mobile app

Attendance, grades, timetable, invoices and announcements in the guardian's hand. The single largest reduction in phone calls to the office.

Timetabling

Generates a full timetable from teacher availability, subject load, room capacity and prayer times — hours instead of days.

Transport, canteen, library, HR and inventory

Bus routes and boarding, canteen balances, book lending, staff records and payroll, stock and assets — in the same database as the students, not four separate tools.

4. Ministry reporting, country by country

Every regulator wants the same facts in a different shape. EduX ships report templates for the markets it serves, so the registrar formats nothing by hand:

5. Fees, invoicing and financial reporting

6. Bilingual Arabic / English and multi-curriculum

EduX is bilingual in the real sense: every screen exists in both Arabic and English, right-to-left and left-to-right, and each user picks their own language. An Arabic-speaking registrar and an English-speaking head of school work in the same records at the same time, each in their own language.

The same applies to curricula. National, British, American and IB sections can run in one school with different grading scales and different report cards, without a second system.

7. Hosting, security and your data

8. What it costs

Pricing is published, annual, and includes setup, data migration, staff training and support. There are no per-module add-ons and no charge for updates.

Prices are in Saudi riyals, or the local equivalent. The cheapest quote in this market is rarely the cheapest system — count what is excluded before comparing.

9. Getting guided setup

Moving from paper or Excel is designed not to interrupt a working school:

• Day 0 — we take your student and staff files in whatever shape they are in, including Excel
• Day 1 — records are migrated, classes and sections are built, your branding is applied
• Day 2 — staff training, guardian app rollout, and you are live

Migration and training are included. No school is asked to enter its own history by hand.

10. How to choose — a buyer's checklist

Whether or not you choose EduX, take this list to every demo:

• Ask what is not included in the quoted price — modules, training, migration, support, updates
• Ask to see a real school's data migrated, not a prepared demo account
• Check the guardian app on a phone, in the language your guardians actually read
• Ask which reports the regulator in your country accepts, and see one generated
• Ask how you would export everything and leave — a vendor confident in the product answers this easily
• Ask what is on the roadmap versus what works today, and get the answer in writing

11. Questions schools ask us

Does EduX replace our ministry portal?

No. Ministry portals remain the official system of record for the regulator. EduX runs the school's own operations and keeps that data organised.

Can guardians pay online?

Not yet. EduX records payments, issues invoices and tracks balances. Card and wallet payment is on the roadmap.

Can we run more than one curriculum?

Yes. Different sections can use different grading scales and report cards in one school.

What if our data is messy?

That is the normal case. Migration is part of setup and we clean duplicates as part of it.

Which countries do you serve?

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and South Africa today, and we onboard schools elsewhere on request. Support is in Arabic and English.

How long is the trial?
