What EduX runs in your school
Rwanda is one of the better-connected markets in the region, which changes what a school should expect from its software. The excuse for a slow, locally installed system with a server in a back room no longer holds — but many schools are still running a fee ledger in Excel on a single office computer, with no backup and no second copy.
The risk in that setup is not performance, it is loss. One failed hard drive takes a term of records with it. EduX keeps pupils, fees, marks and staff in one hosted system that is backed up as a matter of course, and that the head, the bursar and the class teacher each see a role-appropriate view of.

How Rwandan schools are examined
National examinations in Rwanda are administered by the national examinations authority under the competence-based curriculum, and English is the main language of instruction.
EduX records marks under whichever grading scale your school uses and prints your report cards in your language of instruction. It does not submit entries to the examinations authority and does not replace any ministry system.
We serve schools across Rwanda
Setup, training and data migration are done entirely remotely, so where your school is makes no difference to the timeline or the cost.
Whether the school is in Kigali or a district town, all you need is a basic internet connection.
Six reasons EduX fits Rwanda specifically
- Built around the term — Fees, reports and attendance follow a per-term cycle rather than a single annual billing run.
- English-medium reporting — Report cards, receipts and administrative reports print in English, matching the language of instruction.
- Nothing stored on one office PC — Records are hosted and backed up as a matter of course, instead of living on a single computer in the bursar's office.
- Every payment method is recordable — Cash, a bank slip or a mobile money transfer all post to the same student ledger with a receipt.
- No server in the school — No server cupboard, no UPS and no resident technician — hosting, updates and backups are our responsibility.
- Remote setup — Activation, migration from your current Excel files and staff training all happen remotely.
How we start with your school
- Remote demo — A short online or WhatsApp session showing the system against your school's own situation — no visit, no commitment.
- We migrate your data — We take your existing Excel files or registers — pupils, fees, staff — and migrate them ourselves.
- Rwanda setup — Classes and streams, the termly fee structure in RWF, your receipt format, and your grading scale and report card layout.
- Staff training — Remote training for administration, the bursar's office and teachers, with recordings to refer back to when staff change.
- Go live — The school runs on the system, with support over WhatsApp through the term.
Questions from Rwandan schools
Do we need a server or an IT technician in the school?
No. The system is fully cloud-based and opens in a browser on any device. There is no server, no UPS and no manual backup — hosting, updates and backups are our responsibility.
Can it handle per-term fees rather than one annual fee?
Yes. Fees are structured per class and per term in RWF, with instalment plans, sibling discounts and a live arrears list that updates as payments are posted.
Can we record mobile money and cash payments?
Yes. A payment is logged against the student's account with its method — cash, bank transfer or mobile money — and a numbered receipt is issued. The system records the payment; it does not act as the mobile money service itself.
Is the system available in English and French?
Yes. The interface is available in English and Arabic today, and report cards, receipts and administrative reports print in the language your school uses for instruction. Tell us which you need and we will confirm before you commit.
Will it work on a weak connection?
Yes. The interface is light and designed for limited bandwidth, and can be opened from a phone on mobile data.
Does it support more than one campus?
Yes. All branches run from a single account, with separate reporting per branch and a consolidated report for the directors.
How long does setup take?
Setup, training and data migration are done remotely and begin as soon as we receive your school's data — there is no site visit.
Is there a mobile app for parents?
Yes, an app for parents and pupils on iOS and Android, plus the web portal for administration and teachers.
Who owns the school's data?
The school owns its data in full and can export it at any time in a usable format.
