Built for how Kenyan schools actually run
EduX is a cloud school management system for private schools and academies across Kenya. Competency-based assessment, attendance, school fees, a parent app and timetabling — in one record, reachable from any browser or phone.
EduX replaces that patchwork with one system. It is not locked to a single country's education model — your phases, grades, subjects, terms, mark weightings and report card layout are configured to match how your school already works, whether you follow the national curriculum, an independent programme, an Islamic studies stream, or a combination of them.
Attendance registers
Mark daily or per-period attendance from a phone in seconds, and notify parents of an absence the same morning.
Marks & report cards
Capture assessment marks, apply your own weightings, and print term report cards in your school's format.
School fees
Track fee schedules, payments, discounts and arrears per learner, and issue statements and receipts the office can rely on.
Parent portal app
Parents see attendance, marks, timetable, fee statements and announcements on iOS and Android — and message the school directly.
Timetabling
Build class and teacher timetables with automatic clash detection instead of juggling a wall planner.
Online assessments
Question banks, automatic marking and analytics showing where a class or an individual learner is falling behind.
Transport
Manage bus routes and passenger lists, with pickup and drop-off notifications to parents.
Arabic & Islamic studies
True right-to-left support so Arabic subjects, names and reports render correctly — plus Hijri alongside Gregorian dates.
Roles & audit log
Role-based permissions per staff member, encrypted traffic, daily backups and a full audit trail of every change.
Built for CBC competency assessment
The move from 8-4-4 to the Competency-Based Curriculum changed what a school has to record. Marks out of 100 are no longer the point: schools now track strands and sub-strands, rate learners against performance levels, and keep evidence of the work behind each rating.
Most school software in the market is still a marks book with CBC labels pasted on top. EduX lets you define learning areas, strands and sub-strands, record performance levels per learner, and attach evidence — so a portfolio exists as a by-product of ordinary teaching rather than as a term-end scramble.
The Kenyan three-term calendar, per-term fee structures and transport routes are all modelled directly, and reports come out in the shape parents and the school board expect.
Serving schools across Kenya
EduX is used by schools in every major Kenyan city, and set-up is remote — there is no travel cost and no waiting for a visit.
Why schools choose EduX
- No server, no IT department needed — nothing to buy or install, no manual backups, and no technician on call. The system runs in the cloud and backs itself up daily.
- Configured to your school, not to a template — grades, phases, terms, subjects, mark structures and report layouts are all set up around your existing policy.
- Genuinely bilingual English and Arabic — a real differentiator for Islamic and Arabic-medium schools, and harmless for everyone else.
- Everything in one place — attendance, marks, fees, timetable and parent communication stop living in five disconnected tools.
- Remote onboarding included — we import your learner data from Excel or CSV and train your staff live online. No travel cost, no waiting for a site visit.
- Data protection built in — encrypted connections, role-based access, daily backups and an audit log, supporting the controls your school needs under POPIA.
How we get your school started

- Data import — learners, classes and staff imported from your existing Excel or CSV files.
- Staff training — live online sessions for administrators and teachers, plus a simple guide for parents.
- Go live and support — you start the term on the system, with ongoing support over WhatsApp and email.
Frequently asked questions
Does EduX support CBC?
Yes. You define learning areas, strands and sub-strands, and record performance levels per learner with evidence attached. Reports are produced from those records rather than from a marks average.
Does it work for private academies and international schools?
Yes. Schools can run CBC, the British curriculum or an international programme, and different sections can use different assessment models in one school.
Does EduX submit anything to KNEC or the Ministry?
No. EduX keeps your school records organised and produces reports from them. Official submissions continue through the government systems as usual.
Can parents pay school fees through the app?
Not yet. EduX records fees, issues invoices and receipts, tracks balances per term and sends reminders. Mobile money and card payment are not connected; online payment is on the roadmap.
Do we need a server at the school?
No. EduX is cloud-hosted and runs in a browser and on the parent app.
How long does setup take?
Two days. We migrate your existing learner and staff records, including from Excel, configure classes and streams, and train your staff. Both are included.
What does EduX cost for a Kenyan school?
Pricing starts at SAR 3,000 per year for nurseries and SAR 16,000 per year for schools, or the local equivalent, including setup, migration, training and support. A 30-day free trial runs on your own data.
