Who licenses nurseries in Bahrain?
In February 2022 nurseries and kindergartens moved from the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to the Ministry of Education. The newer Private Educational Institutions Law treats early-education institutions as private educational institutions and prohibits establishing or operating one without a Ministry of Education licence.
The ministry renews nursery licences every two years and kindergarten licences every three, so a nursery is reviewed often, and organised records save weeks of preparation each time.
What EduX saves you at renewal
| Need | In EduX |
|---|---|
| List of children and documents | A file per child and an exportable list |

| Pick-up and safety | Authorised-collector list; allergies visible to staff |
BHD fees and 10% VAT
Bahrain's VAT has been 10% since 1 January 2022. Sources indicate that kindergarten and pre-primary education at MOE-licensed institutions is zero-rated — confirm your nursery's position with your tax adviser. There is no e-invoicing mandate as of mid-2026.
In EduX, fee and instalment plans are set in BHD, with reminders before each due date, and payments recorded via BenefitPay, BENEFIT cards or bank transfer.
Children's data and Bahrain's PDPL
The Personal Data Protection Law, Law No. 30 of 2018, has applied since 1 August 2019. In EduX a teacher sees her group, a parent their child and management the whole nursery, and daily-report photos go to the child's family only. Our servers are in Riyadh.
