Who licenses nurseries in Kuwait?
Private nurseries sit with the Ministry of Social Affairs: no private nursery may open before receiving its licence, and renewal must be requested three months before expiry. Kindergartens sit with the Ministry of Education.
A 2016 decision to move nurseries to the Ministry of Education was cancelled; in June 2025 the two ministries were again discussing a transfer that needs Cabinet approval, and we found no published approval as of October 2026. Whichever ministry it is, you need the same thing: organised child and staff records you can show at inspection or renewal.
What to have ready for inspection and renewal
| Need | In EduX |
|---|---|
| List of enrolled children and their documents | A file per child with documents and family details, exportable as a list |
| Who collects each child | Authorised-collector list; collector's name and time on every pick-up |
| Health and allergies | Visible to every staff member who opens the file |
| Staff files | Teacher and caregiver details, documents and shifts |
KWD fees — no VAT
Kuwait has no VAT in force and no e-invoicing mandate. The real problem is collection: late instalments, paper receipts and manual chasing on WhatsApp. In EduX, fee and instalment plans are set in KWD, parents get a reminder before each due date and see their statement and receipts in the app, and payments are recorded by the usual Kuwaiti methods such as KNET and bank transfer.
Children's data in Kuwait
Kuwait does not yet have a general personal data protection law; CITRA's Data Privacy Protection Regulation No. 26 of 2024 applies to licensed telecom and IT service providers. Children's data still deserves care: in EduX a teacher sees only her group, a parent only their child, and photos reach the child's family rather than an open WhatsApp group. Our servers are in Riyadh.
What EduX runs day to day in Kuwait
The core is the same everywhere; the setup is tuned to your nursery in Kuwait: currency, app language, age groups and working days.
- Child profile: family details, documents, allergies and medication visible to every teacher who opens the file, and a list of the adults authorised to collect the child.
- Drop-off and pick-up: time in, time out and the name of whoever collected the child, with an instant notification to parents.
- Daily report: meals and how much was eaten, naps, activities and photos in the parent app (iOS and Android).
- Fees: instalment plans, automatic reminders before the due date, receipts and a statement per family.
- Staff: teacher and caregiver files, shifts and role-based permissions.
- Branches: for nursery groups, occupancy and collections per branch on one dashboard.
Full module details are on the nursery management system overview.
